Out of the horse's mouth

Mowgli and my mom are playing shuttle in the hot sun. In a last bid to get Mowgli to play some indoor game, my mom says " Enough. Mowgli black aayi"
A worried Mowgli drops his bat, runs inside and checks in the mirror " No mamamma, Mowgli ippalum YELLOW aanu!"

Mowgli speaking to our tamil neighbours. After a lot of hopscotch conversation the neighbour says "Okay Mowgli. Bye. Kaushik (her son) toonga pore."
A very happy Mowgli replies " Okay. Bye. Mowgliyum toonga pore." and runs to the push-up bar and tries to hang on it!!!

Middle of the night he gets up and starts hitting me left and right.
"Eduthu. Mama atheduthu." And then abruptly goes back to sleep !!!!

"Mama, Mowgli innorangiyappam cinema kandu."
"Eh? What cinema?"
"Yes. Mowgli and Shezaad (his friend) skate cheyna cinema kandu"
He actually meant Dreams!!!

"Why she is putting so much of susu, mama?"
"I don’t know Mowgli."
"I think becos she is drinking so many dudu, so many kurukks."
"Oh. So what should we do then?"
He pretends to think for some time “Idea.. put Bambi back in your tummy.”

And now that the vacations are here, this is what I need to keep reminding myself every milisecond!

If I Had My Child to Raise Over Again

If I had my child to raise all over again,I'd build self esteem first, and the house
later.

I'd fingerpaint more, and point the finger less.

I would do less correcting and more connecting.

I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.

I would care to know less and know to care more.

I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.

I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.

I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.

I'd do more hugging and less tugging.

I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often.

I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.

I'd model less about the love of power,And more about the power of love.
